On the DP World TOUR, LIV Golf’s Tyrrell Hatton won the Omega Dubai Desert Classic by a shot over Daniel Hillier, finishing at -15 par. Rory McIlroy had a 4th place finish and praised Hatton after his round, calling the Englishman a big asset for the European Ryder Cup Team.
At the AMEX Championship in The Coachella Valley, Sepp Straka earned his 3rd PGA Tour victory, winning by a 2 stroke margin.

PGA TOUR 2K25 is Announced
The latest edition of the PGA TOUR 2K video game has officially been announced. Last week, the games covert art was revealed along with notable features, courses and a launch date. The big changes this year is the addition of the major championship venues, including the PGA, US Open and The Open as well as a new swing mechanics engine that promises to deliver a more realistic feel. Tiger Woods, Max Homa and Matt Fitzpatrick are this year’s cover stars. Those who pre-order the game will be able to play starting February 21st.

TGL Exploring Expansion
According to TMRW Sports co-founder Mike McCarley, the league is exploring expansion opportunities for new venues in Scottsdale, Las Vegas and Southern California. He also told SBJ that they have a list of LIV golfers that they could eventually target, as well as a potential 5 year plan to grow beyond just golf.

Genesis Invitational Moving Venues
The 2025 Genesis Invitational will be-relocated due to the wildfires in California. And word is that the new location will reportedly be none other than Torrey Pines. This means the event will be played at Torrey just two weeks after the Farmers Insurance Open, which is also played there. In advance of the news, several players withdrew from the Farmers, including Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, Mackenzie Hughes and Nicolai Hojgaard.

Butch Harmon RIPS Monahan
On Fairways of Life with Matt Adams, veteran swing coach Butch Harmon had a pointed response when asked about the current state of professional golf and declining interest, laying the blame on PGA TOUR commissioner Jay Monahan for not starting the dialogue sooner.

Rahm Unhappy with OWGR
In Dubai, Jon Rahm voiced his displeasure regarding LIV golfers still not getting access to official world golf ranking points.

LIV Signs with FOX
LIV Golf made it official last week, signing a TV deal with FOX Sports. It will see all LIV events broadcast on various FOX channels including FS1, FS2 and even FOX Business. Production and talent will be LIV’s responsibility, which means existing on-air talent will continue with the new deal.

Fowler Makes Sponsorship Moves
Fan favorite Rickie Fowler has signed a long term contract extension with Cobra / PUMA golf that will see him continue to use clubs and clothing for the foreseeable future. Fowler has also ended sponsorship deals with TaylorMade (ball and glove), as well as Grant Thornton. Fowler has picked up EY as a sponsor and will wear the logo on his shirt.
