Rory Returns to the Winner's Circle

McIlroy earned his 27th PGA TOUR win on Sunday.

This week’s newsletter features:

  • Rory’s Big Win At Pebble Beach

  • Jason Day’s Attire…

  • PGA TOUR addresses slow play

  • And much more!

Rory Wins at Pebble

The PGA TOUR had the two ingredients it needed for a big weekend at a signature event.. A top tier venue and a strong leaderboard. Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose, Tom Kim, Shane Lowry were up there, just to name a few. When it was all said and done, McIlroy cruised to a 2 stroke win at the famed Pebble Beach Golf Links. Sunny skies made the TV viewing all that much better as well. It was a much needed week for the PGA TOUR, which has had a slow start to the season with weaker fields and low TV ratings.

Jason Day Draws a Reaction

It’s safe to say that Jason Day’s endorsement deal with Malbon has been paying off for the brand. It seems that every time he is in action, he’s wearing something wild and unique. On Sunday at Pebble, Day wore a full sweat suit, from sweat pants to a sweat shirt. According to the Pebble Beach dress code, sweatpants aren’t even allowed on the course but hey, when you’re Jason Day you can probably do whatever you want. Do you think this attire is professional enough or should he dial it back a bit?

PGA TOUR Addresses Slow Play Issues

The PGA TOUR told a small group of reporters at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am that it is taking steps to address slow play with a slew of measures aimed at helping fix the issue. One of the most significant changes is the allowance and testing of distance measuring devices during competition. The TOUR says during some tournaments this year, they will test the ability for players to use range finders. Other measures include publicizing fines for greater transparency. Some fans have suggested that a shot clock, like the one used in TGL would be a good solution but so far we’ve seen nothing on that front.

Bryson Visits India

Bryson DeChambeau, along with several other LIV golfers took their talents to India last week to compete in the International Series event on the Asian Tour. While he was there, Bryson visited the Taj Mahal and put on a clinic for spectators at the DLF Golf & Country Club.

DeChameabau was also asked if he would ever join the TGL Golf league if he was invited…

LIV to Start Season Under The Lights

The LIV Golf league is teeing off for the first time in 2025 this week but there’s a catch... they’ll be playing under the lights from Saudi Arabia. Night golf you could call it - but the live broadcast will air during the day time hours in the United States due to the time zone difference. Some guys were already getting a look at the course this weekend.
