1. Good Good Golf Faces Major Fallout Following Controversial Ad

The fallout from Good Good Golf’s controversial co-branded Callaway driver advertisement escalated rapidly over the past week. After backlash over the video led to its deletion, Callaway issued an apology before cutting ties with Good Good and pledging over $1 million towards efforts to end violence against women. Golf Channel then cancelled the planned Good Good x Big Break show, while retailers including Dick’s Sporting Goods, Golf Galaxy, PGA Tour Superstore, and Target removed Good Good products from their stores. Good Good has also stepped away as sponsor of the PGA Tour’s Austin, Texas event this November, with the tournament set to continue under a new sponsor.

2. PGA Tour to Introduce Match Play beginning at 2028 playoffs

The PGA Tour has announced that it will be bringing match play back in a big way in 2028, introducing a World Cup-style Tour Championship. The top 32 players will advance to match play and those players will be split into 8 groups of 4. Each player will compete against the other 3 in their group. The top 2 players from each group will then advance to a 16-player, head-to-head knockout bracket to determine the champion.

3. PGA Tour and DP World Tour Working to Create Global Series

According to The Telegraph, The PGA Tour and DP World Tour are reportedly working on a new fall ‘Global Series’ that could launch as early as 2028. The series could feature up to nine events across countries including England, Spain, Italy, the UAE, Australia, and South Africa, potentially bringing more top players to international events.
